so what do you want to be when you grow up?
.
I always remember this question being asked to me when i was a wee snapper and i didnt know any better. Hmm i want to be a vet i would say with a big smile on my face and look after all the sick animals and take care of them. Now this question was asked when i was 8 years old so i am going to forward a few years to when i was 14 and in school. So what would you like to be when you leave school. My guidance counsellor would say to me every little while or so. So i always went back to my excited 8 year answer and say with a smile on my face i want to be a vet. Now you know that being a vet will take years of training and you will need to great marks on your exams and work very hard. So with that i left my guidance counsellor with more questions than answers to satisfy me in any way. Gosh i said to myself hmm lots of exams and studying to do so i can get my dream job. hmm i think not i said to myself one day. Sadly my dreams of becoming a vet never came true. So by chance i decided to go into computers and with that i have never looked back.
i unfortunately left school at an early age so i decided to do a fas course on computers it was a great thing to do and i have to say i also got my junior cert leaving cert and a few other courses under my belt to help me through life and for that i am grateful. i also got the chance to go back to school and do my leaving certs in which i did very well so i am well pleased with that. I do actually still do computers now and i like it. I am currently doing a desktop publishing and web design course. Which i find enjoyable. I am currently working on a web page at the present moment and its going pretty good.
I also decided to do a course in bar management which i really like. You see running a bar is quite interesting for me believe or not but like every job it has its ups and down like a roller coaster. I think with working in the bar trade i have met the most interesting of people from many different parts of the world and its also a great way of learning about the world we live in how it works and how do deal with unforturnute situations that life tends to throw at us. i cant really find fault in the job that i am in but at the same time i am grateful that i have a job in the times of a resession coming on to us.
Unfortunately i was given bad news last week that my restaurant that i work in is not going well and to say the least i am a bit worried so i thank god in a way that i have carved out a career in computers oh god how i thank my lucky stars. So my plan is to work in the restaurant to see the Christmas through and to see what the new year brings me in 2009. god only knows that 2008 was a really bad year for me but that’s for a another blog at another time.
By the way the oasis song i put on i was jsut humming to myself while i wrote this blog no other special reason
Thanks all and i hope that you enjoy this blog.

Good on you for going for the Leaving Cert. That’s dedication. If you can do that then you can do so much more. Good luck next year – It’ll be great. Wait and see.
The beauty of working in the food and beverage field is that with a little experience, you can always find work anyplace in the world. If the place you are at closes, fear not! You can go anywhere. You now have a skill that will always be in demand.
